CD contains 11 original rock songs in a variety of styles from an old school songwriter.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Gordon listened to the birth of Rock & Roll and Motown on the radio as a child. He saw the original Ed Sullivan broadcast of the Beatles which inspired him to learn songs on a Harmony guitar. With the emergence of surf, folk and acid rock in the '60's, Gordon started playing bass guitar and singing live while also attending live concerts of most of the legends of rock. Playing in local clubs in the Hollywood area, Orange County and Arizona during the early '70's his band Taxidancer often played at Gazzarri's on the same bill with Van Halen, Prodigy and Sway. Gordon also played with Canadian recording artists Michael McKenna and the Lisa Hartt band (produced by Phil Ramone) opening concerts for April Wine's 1977 eastern Canada tour.
These are rock songs with strong values, a heart & soul and a bit of humor. Gordon's sincere vocal with a rock quintet: bass, drums, guitars, piano, Wurlitzer piano, Hammond B-3 plus sax, Eagle-ish background harmony and one soulful black lady. Vocal/instrumental takes are live with some punch-ins. Mixed by hand. Professionally mastered with no digital editing. Influences include James Taylor, Elton John, Leon Russell, Bruce Hornsby, Bonnie Raitt and Steely Dan.
Initial profits go to Loni and Casey Hands' (album artists!) college fund with 10% tithed to the nondenominational First Christian Church of Newbury Park.
